I love pushing my own limits and learning what's possible. I've run 100 miles in a day, biked 200 miles in a day, and have raced in ultramarathons from the mountains of the Himalayas to the deserts of Oman.

Kevin Weil

Kevin is our operator in residence—an apt title because as Elizabeth’s husband, he’s truly “in residence.” Like our founders, Kevin is focused day-to-day on building a company and product as Chief Product Officer at OpenAI. He is an active contributor to Scribble Ventures, especially where his operational, strategic, and product/design/data background can help our portfolio companies.

Kevin's entire career has been about working on big missions: connecting people and ideas at Instagram and Twitter, digitizing financial services at Libra/Novi, or most recently at Planet which is using space to advance global security, sustainability, and transparency.

As Head of Product at Twitter, he helped the company scale from 40 to 4,000 people, from $0 to $2B in revenue, and to over 300M users, and was on the leadership team through the IPO. He moved to Instagram in 2016 to lead the product and data teams. During his time there, he helped Instagram grow from 400M users to over 1B and over $10B in revenue, including launching Instagram Stories. Kevin then co-founded the cryptocurrency Diem (formerly known as Libra) and fintech app Novi, and built both for three years before moving to Planet Labs in 2021 in a President role. At Planet, he led everything from space systems to product and engineering, and from sales to marketing, as they grew from 500 to 1100 people, more than doubled their revenue, and went public as a PBC.

Kevin graduated summa cum laude from Harvard with a BA in Mathematics and Physics, and from Stanford University with an MS in Physics. He serves on the board of Planet Federal, Strava, the Nature Conservancy, and the Black Product Managers Network. When he’s not working, he’s spending time with Elizabeth and their three kids, or running ultra-marathons.
